Civil War in China: Cold War Tension

The Civil War in China was between the communists, lead by Mao Zedong, and the Nationalists, lead by Chiang Kai-Sheck. The Chinese nationalists showed resisting the Japanese, but Kai-Shecks government was dictatorial, inefficient, and corrupt and they undermined the nationalists support. The communists were winning because most people liked the communists actions. Peasants like the communists because they gave land to them and reduced their rent. From 1944 to 1947 the United States were peacemakers, but then the containment failed and we were in the Civil War in China, and that was a huge tension for us and China.
